Wil protect your shins and save you on those pedal slips. Mine are torn to shreads but my shins are doing good. If you want just shin protection, these are very good, light, don't slide too much, easy to pedal with, not hot, and 4 velcro strap for different fits. Although my shins are doing great, my knees are torn, so i'm moving up to knee/shin. I would recommend these and they have saved my skin and bone many times.
